- Talk to administration at your school and get the OKAY for your event. Choose a date. And a location.
- Decide which charity you want to work with. Establish a connection with them. Ask them to be present on the day of your event. Maybe they can set up a booth there? Sell their merchandise? Show a PowerPoint presentation?
- Decide on an ART FOR ACTION logo for your school. (I have had kindergarten students design it in the past two schools.)
- Decide if you want to have any merchandise available (i.e. reusable bags, t-shirts, etc.). Find a printer. Send them the logo. Order away!
- Have ALL students in your school create at least one piece of art to put in the ART EXHIBITION. Ask classes to also make pieces that can be sold at an ART SALE (i.e. bracelets, bookmarks, plant pots, posters, etc.).
- Ask some older students to create art that can be auctioned at a SILENT AUCTION. These pieces can be real money makers!!
- Have students create posters to send home and put up around the school to advertise. Include your logo on EVERYTHING!
- Decide if you will sell tickets to parents or have free admission. Print tickets if needed.
- What else will take place on your big day? Auction? Music? Draw? Anything else?
